A one-pager is a way to visually share key ideas and information from what you have learned. When you create a one pager, you are trying to use both visual symbols and important words to clearly and concisely share your most important takeaways with someone else.
For this one pager, I’ve provided you with a template.
Using the poems from the book, "Woke," a young poet's call to justice, reflect on the poems and Martin Luther King, Jr. Then use your knowledge of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the poems to make a connection and create a on-pager.
Here’s what it MUST INCLUDE:
•Three main ideas from the poems, represented in both words and imagery
•Two significant quotations from Martin Luther King that stood out to you
•One or two key symbols from the poems, represented in words and/or images
•Connections between the poems and current events, represented in both words and images
•Connections between the poems and other work you have read, viewed, listened to, etc., represented in words, images, quotations, and/or symbols
•Your answer to the question: Has Martin Luther King’s dream been fulfilled?
You may also add other symbols, drawings, and words that represent the show as you wish.

Good Evening, Students & Parent/Guardian(s),
Tonight, I began calling home to introduce myself, discuss the attached document, and provide some information about the first day of school. However, I was not able to reach many parents; therefore, I decided to create this form and send it to you.
Attached is a Google Sheet with Virtual Homeroom Information! It is extremely important it is current and as accurate as possible. Please locate your child's name and complete ALL 6 columns. I would greatly appreciate it if you could complete it as soon as possible.
Additionally, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me. My contact information is located in the Student/Parent Resources section.
1.) The first day of school is Thursday, September 10, 2020.
2.) Please make sure your child checks their Google email and joined ALL Google Classrooms.
3.) Make sure to scroll through each section, become familiar with information posted, and complete the Parent Survey.
4.) Be prepared on Thursday by doing the following things:
- Logging in to Google Meet on time at 8:25am and ready to begin at 8:30am
- Camera should be on and mic needs to be muted upon entering meeting
- Have a notebook and pen to write down any information or notes we discuss in class.
- Dress appropriately
- Find a location that is appropriate and quiet in order to focus during class
Your child will receive a Participation Grade (100) once this is fully completed.
Please let me know if I can assist you in any way. I would like to thank you all in advance for your patience and support as we begin a new school year remotely.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Colon
